How do surrender and trust fit into ShapeShifting?

Surrender and trust are as important to ShapeShifting as is the flow of energy in and through your body. They are mind set companions that enable the flow of energy in and through your body.

Moving is an act of surrender. You are trusting your body’s nanosecond response to guide you in the midst of gravity (a form of energy) pulling you to the ground. You are constantly in a state of being off balance as you trust your body to catch you. This is also allowing yourself to be vulnerable, which is a way of opening yourself up to the world within you and around you, which is opening yourself up to what your body is sensing, which is opening yourself up to your preconscious mind where your body lives and breathes, which is a form of meditation.

You can surrender to the environment around you. You can surrender to the music that you are listening to, you can surrender to the person that you are moving with. You can surrender to the smells, sounds, textures, physical objects, and energy webs around you.

When you surrender, you open up. You take risks; you explore what you have been afraid to explore. You welcome what comes to your body’s senses.

When you surrender, trust, and become vulnerable, you create a place for trust, freedom, and expression. You create a space that encourages other bodies to tell their own body stories. However, this is also a place of risk. It can be frightening at times to be in this state of mind. As a result, you also need to call on courage to carry you through.
