How does the flow of energy within and through the body affect it?
The flow of energy both from within and through your body is ubiquitous and essential.
This combined flow of energy
• creates and sustains the body and its sensory and mechanical functions
• organizes myriad layers of self-referential, parallel looping energetic processes into levels of intelligence and consciousness
• gives rise to the movement that the body creates to express itself
• connects other bodies to that movement
This combined flow of energy creates and sustains the body and its sensory and mechanical functions.
This combined creative and sustaining energy flow begins at the subatomic and molecular levels through chemical and electromagnetic exchanges within cells and moves on up to the most complex muscular and mental processes. This power to create and maintain has come from the beginning of time. It has gone through billions of changes in form over billions of years and it now continues in its endless journey as it flows within and through your body. Your body, as it takes in energy with its ancient history, also becomes a totally new expression of it. Your body becomes part of the flow of eternal energy. One could say that for nanoseconds of time your body becomes an incarnation of energy. It is almost as if energy seeks expression and your body is the perfect vehicle for that expression.
It is through countless chemical and electromagnetic exchanges of energy that your body’s sensory cells take in information from the world around it. Yet more exchanges transfer that data through the nervous system to the brain where even more energy exchanges trigger thought and muscular reactions. Once again, this constant flow of energy makes all of this happen.
This energy does not come only from within your body. There is a world of unseen and unconsciously sensed energy that surrounds our bodies. Our bodies are influenced by ambient energy in the form of electromagnetic frequencies such as radio waves and sound waves. These forms of energy trigger reactions in our bodies. And there are no doubt undiscovered webs of energy which affect our bodies in ways that we do not yet understand.
This combined flow of energy organizes myriad layers of self-referential, parallel looping energetic processes into levels of intelligence and consciousness.
This same flow of energy that creates and sustains the body also gives rise to levels of intelligence and consciousness. Energy flow within the body organizes the multitudes of layers of self-referential, parallel looping energetic processes into levels of intelligence and consciousness. There are a number of levels of consciousness.
Each of these levels has certain functions that they perform in the life of our whole organism. Our conscious minds are our default state; it is the conscious state in which we spend most of our waking lives. It focuses on reasoning, self-reflection, introspection, and self-monitoring. There is the level that is behind the scenes which keeps the millions of moment by moment bodily automatic functions (like breathing, swallowing, digesting, etc.) going. There are levels of consciousness that are reachable with effort like our unconscious and subconscious states which contribute to how we respond to events and relationships in our daily lives.
There is also a level of consciousness accessed through energy flow that is dedicated to our creative and expressive processes as humans. I call it our preconscious mind. It is not a conscious, subconscious or unconscious state of mind. It ,in fact, functions best when the conscious mind is shut down. Its sole purpose is to promote and insure spontaneous moments of creativity. It is the place where our bodies live and breathe. It is a place where our bodies are free to remember and express all that they have collected from their sensory mechanisms throughout our lives. It is the place where the language of movement is formed. When our bodies remember and express they use this language to communicate.
This combined flow of energy gives rise to the movement that the body creates to express itself.
When you are in this preconscious state of mind your body is free to express what it knows and remembers in the form of movement. That movement is made possible by the flow of energy both from within your body and the ambient energy surrounding your body.
This is how it happens. The energy flowing through and around your body lays out a line or flow of energy that your body then follows. As your body follows that flow line, it fills it in with its physical movement story. In this process, your body's physical movement also articulates the energy flow that it is following. The energy flow not only gives your body a place to tell its story but gives itself the gift of physical expression . Energy gets shape and shapes get flow- thus ShapeShifting.
At the preconscious mind level this energy flow allows the body to both reflect on what it has experienced and spontaneously express what it knows without restraint. In the process of expression, the body responds to yet other forms of energy such as sound energy (music, ambient sound, spoken words), energy webs, and the energy of other bodies, etc. and directs that merged energy into a new flow of energy shaped by your body’s movement which is yet another level/layer of energy.
This combined flow of energy connects other bodies to that movement.
Have you experienced being in a room with a group of people when someone comes in and suddenly it feels like all of the air/energy in the room gets sucked into that person. It feels as if this person is taking up all of the space in the room. You do not literally see them take up more space but you feel as though this is happening. It feels as if energy is being drained from your body.
ShapeShifting is exactly the opposite of that. We amplify everyones body energy so that there is an increased flow of energy to all other bodies in the room. This is the phenomenon known as resonance. Resonance occurs when the natural vibration frequency of a body is greatly amplified by reinforcing vibrations that are at the same or nearly the same frequency from another body. Resonance is another kind of energy flow that connects one body with another. As energy flows in and through our bodies, it creates a common frequency to which each of our bodies vibrate. A kind of synergy occurs. And together our bodies speak to each other with clarity and power. This frequency is revealed in each of our preconscious states of mind. It is the place where our bodies truly recognize one another
